Last year, we shared a collection of participant testimonials from our Articulate training. This year, we took a bigger step: we analysed 12 months of structured evaluation results to understand what L&D professionals in Australia and New Zealand are really valuing in training right now and why so many teams keep choosing the same learning partner.
Across the past 12 months, participants completed post-workshop evaluations after attending workshops delivered by B Online Learning. Participants rated key criteria like clarity, engagement, participation, Q&A support, materials, technology, and overall satisfaction, and many also provided comments we’re able to share publicly.
When you look at the data as a whole, it tells a clear story: L&D professionals want training that is practical, confidence-building and immediately useful.
And they want it delivered in a way that respects their experience.
The results
Here’s what evaluation results show:
- 100% of participants said they would recommend the training to a colleague
- Average overall satisfaction: 4.85 out of 5
What this means is that participants were willing to endorse it professionally and that matters in L&D where recommendations are rarely handed out lightly.
Who attended across the year
The feedback covers a healthy mix of skill levels and workshop types:
- Approximately 54% attended Articulate Storyline (Basic or Advanced)
- Around 28% attended Articulate Rise
- About 16% attended eLearning Design Essentials
- Roughly 2% attended Articulate Storyline Master
That spread is important because it shows the training isn’t only resonating with newcomers. It’s serving a whole ecosystem: people just starting in Articulate, people levelling up into more complex builds, and experienced practitioners refining their approach.
How participants rated the learning experience
As part of the post-workshop evaluation, participants were asked to rate key aspects of the learning experience that directly influence how effective training is in practice. Rather than focusing on general enjoyment, these questions examined how well the workshops supported understanding, engagement and real-world application.
The following areas were assessed consistently across workshops.
1. Clarity
Participants were asked to rate how clearly the workshop presented concepts and explained features. This question focused on whether:
- Concepts were explained in plain, easy-to-understand language
- New ideas were introduced at a manageable pace
- Explanations made sense regardless of experience level
- Participants could follow along and apply what was demonstrated
Based on these responses:
- 83.7% rated clarity as “extremely well”
- 16.3% rated it as “very well”
For software-based learning, clarity is foundational. These results reflect sessions where participants could move from understanding a concept to confidently applying it in their own work.
2. Q&A and support
Participants were also asked to rate how effectively the workshop answered questions and supported learning throughout the session. This question looked at whether:
- Questions were welcomed at any point
- Responses were clear, considered and relevant
- Follow-up questions were addressed thoroughly
- Support extended beyond surface-level explanations
Based on this measure:
- 83% rated Q&A and support as “extremely well”
- 17% rated it as “very well”
These results indicate workshops where participants felt comfortable raising real-world questions and confident they would receive meaningful, practical answers.
3. Participation and engagement
Participants were asked to rate how effectively the workshop encouraged participation and maintained engagement. This question was not about how often someone spoke. Instead, it considered whether the session:
- Encouraged questions and discussion without pressure
- Created a comfortable, inclusive learning environment
- Supported different participation styles and experience levels
- Balanced conversation with hands-on learning
Based on participant responses:
- 75.6% rated participation as “extremely well”
- 67.4% rated sustained engagement as “extremely well”
Together, these scores reflect workshops where participants felt able to engage in ways that suited them, whether through discussion, questioning or focused practical activity, while maintaining interest throughout the session.

What this feedback ultimately confirms
At the end of the day, this feedback isn’t really about scores. It’s about outcomes. Participants came to either:
- Learn how to use Articulate Storyline
- Build better courses in Articulate Rise
- Strengthen their eLearning design capability
- Leave feeling more confident and capable in their role
The evaluation results consistently show that those expectations were met. Across workshops, participants reported that they:
- Learned how to use the tools in practical, work-ready ways
- Understood why certain design decisions work, not just how to execute them
- Gained confidence applying what they learned immediately on real projects
- Felt supported asking questions specific to their own context
This is reinforced through both the quantitative results and the qualitative feedback – particularly comments referencing clarity, hands-on practice, confidence, and real-world application.
Whether participants attended Storyline, Rise, or eLearning Design Essentials, the outcome was the same: improved capability, not just exposure.
What this tells us about L&D in Australia and New Zealand right now
When we zoom out, the feedback points to what L&D teams across Australia and New Zealand are prioritising in 2026:
1) Practical skill transfer, not just tool exposure
Participants consistently value training that helps them do the work, not just understand the interface. Comments like “practicing while learning” show that hands-on design is the difference-maker.
2) Confidence to make decisions (not just follow steps)
Several testimonials point to confidence, pacing, and applying learning immediately. That tells us participants aren’t just collecting features. They’re building decision making capability: what to build, how to structure it, and why it works.
3) Training that respects professionals
You’re training adults who have deadlines, stakeholders and messy content. They don’t want theatre. They want substance, clarity, and the ability to ask questions without feeling silly.
The data backs that up: extremely strong ratings for Q&A support and participation signal a workshop environment where people feel comfortable bringing real challenges into the room.
A final word
A good experience is remembered and recommended.
The feedback shared here reflects L&D professionals who left workshops feeling capable, supported, and ready to apply what they learned in real-world contexts. That outcome – confidence paired with practical skill – is what effective capability building looks like.
It’s also why so many teams across Australia and New Zealand continue to choose B Online Learning as their Articulate training partner.
